Had such a great time at Drom this month. I’m still going over photos almost 2 weeks later! I’m so grateful for all the love and support from both the performers and the audience. In fact, it’s because of our amazing fans, that I’ve decided to change the game a little and give you even more love! I know it sounds weird given that I’ve canceled the Junes show at Sapphire Lounge, but for June I’m giving away something more than just scantily clad dames and audience games. I’m giving away a very special fan experience.

On either a Tuesday or Saturday evening in June, 15 of our most amazing fans will be invited to an informal meet and greet, which will include a sneak peak at a new act I’m working on, an opportunity to chat with me and a few of your favorite One Night Stand cuties, a few burlesque routines, and a complimentary cocktail. If you are one of the 15 fans selected to attend then you get to enjoy all of this for free. That’s right, this time you’re the star, and we want to show how much we appreciate the many Wednesday mornings you’ve gone to work slightly hungover as a result of partying with us on Tuesday night.

So many life changes recently (new jobs, new dance students, saying goodbye to students who’ve finished their program, going from incredibly bored to incredibly busy), but the majority of the changes have been for the better. I’m happier just thinking about the future. Here’s a change worth singing about. My burlesque show, “The Luvely Rae’s One Night Stand”, is 4 years old and I’ve invited some super talented vixens to join the show at Drom in NYC. Yep, that’s right. Drom! It’s one night only on a big stage with fancy pants lighting and full dinner service available. Yes the bartenders will know how to make cocktails so basically anyone who’s ever complained about 1) not getting good drinks, 2) getting hungry before the show is over 3) not being able to see all the rhinestones, should stop complaining and come to this show. Yep, I said it. Stop your bitching and come out and party with me. Event though my life is changing swiftly, I haven’t changed as a person. I’m still straight forward and I’m still honest. Wait are you crying now? Stop your crying too! Take it like a man! From behind ;-)

Well I must hate my feet, given that I’ve chosen to torture them. Spent all weekend dancing ballroom (stepped on someone doing Bolero) and now I’ve opted at the last possible minute to do my pointe act tonight. Of course my feet hurt! Of course I should stop being stupid and pick a different routine. Of course, I love challenging myself and the thrill of success, so hears to hoping I don’t end up in agony before I hit the stage.

I’ll be doing 2 fun Pre-Valentine’s Day workshops on February 11th and February 12th.

February 11th is NYC.

February 12th will be in Sea Cliff, NY pending the number of interested students.

Classes are “Striptease for lovers” and “Belly Dance Striptease”. These classes are for women only and make a great Valentine’s Day gift(sorry boys, but you can still buy a gift certificate for your loved one).

It’s amazing how many unopened letters, unfinished costumes, and half typed emails I’d accumulated over the past 6 months. Actually it’s more disgraceful than anything. It’s taken almost all of January just to make a bit of sense out of the whole mess. Delete this, toss that, mail this, sniff check that. Well, February should mean way more artstic merry making, and of course more coffee breaks with friends. By the way, if I didn’t answer your email from 4 months ago, I probably just deleted it (not on purpose), and though I’m a tea drinker and not a coffee drinker, feel free to email me and we’ll meet up for a cup or two.

Questionable art show in Brooklyn. Crappy customer service and tasteless food at Mary O’s (really a 35 minute wait for a cold salad). A slow day of dancing. And now all I want to do is take a nap so I can dance the night away with Sake Fevah, Tess Trueheart, Foxy Vermouth, Apathy Angel, and Bitty Bamboo at The Luvely Rae’s One Night Stand. The show has had over 120 performers in the past 3 years. That’s a lot of glitter. I’ve met some wonderful people (met a few stinkers too, but that’s show biz) and I’m looking forward to year number 4. If you don’t have Tuesday night plans then stop by Sapphire Lounge.
